The Library
This room features a rare, one-piece fireplace of Italian marble called “Verde Antique.” The shutters for the windows (and throughout the first two floors) were concealed by expert craftsmen of the time in a hidden storage system below the windows. The occupants would select the shutters depending on the degree of sunlight desired. The wood in the room is the finest quality mahogany and the ceiling, originally painted in gold leaf pattern, has been painted over.
