Jared K. Cook
Jared Cook joined Thomas & Solomon in 2009. While attending law school, Jared worked at the Minneapolis-based employment firm Nichols Kaster, where he gained experience with representing employees with discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and whistleblower claims, and in wage and hour class and collective actions. Since joining the firm, Jared has worked extensively to help employees recover their unpaid wages in class and collective actions under both Federal and state law, with particular experience representing nurses and other hospital employees who were not paid for working during their unpaid lunch breaks.
Jared is fluent in Spanish, which he learned as a missionary for his church in southern Arizona in 2000-2002. During law school, Jared worked with Migrant Farmworker Unit of the non-profit legal services corporation Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services where he helped to counsel and represent migrant farmworker families in a variety of legal disputes ranging from housing issues to immigration issues to unpaid wages.
Jared graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2009. Before law school, Jared earned a B.A. in English from Brigham Young University in 2006.
